Fulton Country Club Board Meeting November 28, 2006 President Bielenberg called the meeting to order at 6:23 P.M. Present: Bielenberg, Housenga, Van Zuiden, Gilbert, Schrader, Harmon, Workman, Winkel. Absent: Doughty, Rolfes A motion was made to approve the minutes from the Oct. 31st meeting by Gilbert, seconded by Schrader. Minutes approved Rich Winkel presented the monthly Treasurer’s report. Motion made by Van Zuiden to approve the report, seconded by Harmon. Motion approved. Gilbert presented an update of information on sponsorship of hole signs (advertisements). Most people who have them now are willing to renew and keep theirs. There may be 2 or 3 that won’t renew them. A discussion followed, the price of new signs will be small ones $80, large one’s $ 90) a motion was made by Van Zuiden and seconded by Workman to set the fee at $300 for renewals and $350 for new signs (this will be for a 2 year period). Cost will include the price of making the signs. Motion approved. Housenga presented the cost of fencing materials to be installed along #1 fairway. Total cost should not exceed $200 so it was decided we would do it ourselves with volunteer labor yet this fall or early spring. Cost to have chain link fence installed would be about $1500. A presentation was made by the Building Committee to remodel the Men’s restroom/locker room and the outside hallway. Much discussion followed pertaining to what was needed and how far we would go. Finally a motion was made by Harmon, seconded by Schrader to approve up to $15,000 for this project. Motion approved. Remodel will include new tile floor, additional new water closet, new sink area, redo walls, turn shower area into storage area, repaint walls & lockers, new ceiling tile and grid. Most labor to be provided by club members and hire only what we can’t do ourselves. Grounds & Greens report was presented by Van Zuiden. Snow mold has been applied and Kurt is finishing up for the year. There are some maintenance items with equipment that will be completed next month. The 3 benches have arrived and will be ready for next years use. The Prairie Grass area has been planted. President Bielenberg announced that Kurt McCaulley (Supt) is leaving at the end of his contract Dec. 31st. He has accepted employment elsewhere in the area. We will start advertising for a new Superintendent immediately. Cut off date for resumes will be Dec. 31st. Motion made by Housenga to give five club employees a bonus of $100 (as given in the past). Kurt & Betty do not receive this as bonus is a part of their salary. Motion was seconded by Gilbert. Motion approved. Next meeting is Tuesday Dec. 19th 6:30 PM in Clifton & Gunderson meeting room.
