Absent: None Mr. Charles Dykstra made a presentation and a request that the Fulton Country Club join the Fulton Chamber of Commerce. Tabled until later in the meeting. The minutes of the June 26th meeting were approved with one correction being made to them. Rich Winkel presented the financial report. A discussion about it went on for several minutes and then Harmon made a motion to accept it, seconded by Schrader. The motion was approved on a voice vote. Some other golf course had made us an offer for the out-front John Deere mower. This request was denied until we decide what to do for upgrade of Capital equipment for next year. There was much discussion on repairs/replacement of some cart sheds. Ken Schrader to get some prices on replacing the oldest row of sheds. The clubhouse roof repairs were discussed again with no decisions made but we are trying to get someone to repair the rain gutter on the south side. The winners of the Club Championship were: Tyler Sukut (Club Champion) Steve Workman (Senior Champion) Chuck Miller (Super Senior Champion). The Prairie Grass areas were discussed and it was decided to get signs made up to place in these areas. NO CARTS ALLOWED-----FREE DROP AREA. We don’t want carts in these areas and want to minimize the foot traffic as much as possible. The week of the Club Tournament (Aug. 18, 19) the committee was given the power to either keep the course open or close it for the tournament whatever they felt was the best way to go. Doughty made a motion to join the Fulton Chamber of Commerce for a fee of $100, the motion was seconded by Rolfes, motion approved by a voice vote. Van Zuiden made a motion to eliminate the existing dress code rule, a second was made by Workman. Much discussion followed but a roll call vote on the motion was defeated. Workman said he has been approached by a couple of members about grass dying in the fairways in a few spots. He answered them to the best of his knowledge but these kinds of questions should go to Zach (GCS) to answer. He also said he is testing the water for the course. Workman also requested and received permission to set up a Junior tournament sometime in Aug. or Sept. It will be set up on a Monday or Friday afternoon and should not affect the normal playing of the course. Gary Rolfes made a motion to adjourn and Steve Workman seconded that motion. Meeting adjourned at 8:00 PM Jerry Van Zuiden Secretary Fulton Country Club
