Fulton Country Club Board Meeting May 29, 2007 The meeting was held at the Clubhouse and was called to order by President Bielenberg at 6:32 P.M. Present: Bielenberg, Housenga, Van Zuiden, Gilbert, Schrader, Workman, Rolfes, Harmon, Winkel. Absent: Doughty A motion was made by Gilbert and seconded by Housenga to approve the minutes of the April 24th Board meeting, motioned carried. Zach reported that Don Bartels has caught 10 moles thus far and felt he was done but there has been some recent activity again. Housenga is working on the signage required at the gas pump that must be completed by July per the State Fire Marshal. Van Zuiden presented Grounds & Greens report and Zach gave an update on things he would like to do to the course. Aaron Goy from “Bull Market” also spoke for 15-20 minutes about our course and basically confirmed what Zach said which was we need to do more aeration of our greens and tee boxes. He feels we are getting too much thatch in our greens and they need more aeration (monthly) to allow more oxygen flow and better water absorption. Zach would like to eliminate #1 fairway bunker completely and move dirt to bunker at #4 on the left and also fill it in. He needs to get a price from Jeff Spencer for removal & hauling of dirt before proceeding. Van Zuiden will get a firm bid from Jeff Spencer on stump removal along the west fence where the hedge trees were removed. Edging of sand traps has started. Rough will be mowed to 2 ˝ inches to tree line and 3 inches beyond that point. The greens mower (2500A) has a leaking head gasket and has been send to JD Turf for repairs. We had them provide us with a spare to use. We don’t know at this point if it is a loaner or a rental, either way, we must have a mower to use. Chuck Kerr was present and told us someone (?) had a hole in one with only one witness and questioned if the Board would recognize with just one witness. We have in the past so it was approved. Winkel presented the Treasurers report; a motion was made by Van Zuiden to approve it and seconded by Rolfes. Motion carried. Zach requested to purchase a used aerator. A motion was made by Gilbert and seconded by Harmon to approve up to $ 3000 for this project (shipping included). Motion carried by a voice vote. A donation of one round of golf for 4 people (carts not included) was approved for a benefit that Cross Creek Golf Course is having. A letter from Riverbend Schools with the golf team schedule was received and given to Housenga to schedule events. The board approved $800 for the purchase of a beverage cart to be used on golf course playdays/outings. It was decided that spouses of club employees may have golf privileges but not cart privileges. A motion was made to adjourn at 8:33 PM------meeting adjourned. Submitted by Jerry Van Zuiden Sec. Fulton Country Club
