Fulton Country Club Board Meeting
March 27, 2007
The meeting was held at the Clubhouse and was called to order by President Bielenberg at 6:32 P.M.
Present: Bielenberg, Housenga, Van Zuiden, Gilbert, Workman, Doughty, Harmon, Schrader, Winkel, Rolfes (arrived late).
Absent: None
Gilbert made a motion to approve the minutes of the Feb. 20th meeting as written, Harmon seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Winkel presented financial statements for Feb. & March. A short discussion followed and Doughty made the motion to approve the financial statements, Housenga seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Grounds & Greens: Bruce Royer from the State of Illinois came to the Club on 3-22 and explained what we had to do to meet the permitting requirements for our containment area. He approved our plan and the material we plan to purchase for a portable containment dike. He said he would send us the permit when he got back to his office. Zach will order the portable containment facility ($2551.15) once the permit is received.
The committee recommended trading in two 1995 Yamaha carts and upgrading these to 2002 Yamaha’s for a total cost of $3050.00 plus Illinois tax. The Board approved this item. Van Zuiden to contact Harris Golf cars to verify.
Zach will get the bunker project started last year completed as soon as possible. Zach and Wayne have all the Club carts serviced for the season. Zach wants to cut down 3 or 4 trees behind #4 tee box that are serving no purpose and slowing air flow to #3 tee box (approved). The new fountain for #8 water pond was purchased and is now installed and working. Approximate cost was $2800.
The meeting to set up the golf league for the season will be held on Thursday April 12th. The Board approved the purchase of a software program for the league ($156).
The “Over 50” group will be playing at Fulton C.C. twice this year (April 30th, July 30th)
Jeff Harmon will get bids again this year for re-roofing the Clubhouse. Approximate cost for the locker room, Men’s restroom upgrade was $9500. A big Thank You goes out to all the volunteers who helped complete this project.
Our insurance carrier inspected us and noted that all the “Emergency Lights” and the Gas Detection System need to be checked out. Jeff Harmon assigned to take care of.
We have a new employee in the Pro-Shop this year (Julie Luckritz). Stop by and say “hi” to Julie when you can.
Arnie Housenga & Linda Gilbert cleaned out and straightened up the “record retention” area upstairs. Thanks to Arnie & Linda for their efforts.
We still have not heard from some members who haven’t renewed their memberships for the year. We have been trying to contact them with no results. We will be dropping them from the membership list if we are not contacted by April 1st.
Starting Thursday March 29th the Clubhouse will open at 7:00 A.M. for golfers.
The Fulton Chief of Police has contacted Zach about some security concerns. We will get with him for more information on this matter.
We need to get the area cleaned up from tree cutting (removal & disposal of brush).
Doughty made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Harmon seconded. The meeting was adjourned at 7:52 P.M.
Next Board meeting will be April 24th, 2007 at the Clubhouse.
