Minutes of Board of Directors Fulton Country Club July 29, 2008 The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Directors of Fulton Country Club was held July 29, 2008 at 6:30 P.M. Those present at the meeting were as follows: R. Bielenberg, A. Housenga, K. Schrader, M. Heusinkveld, S. Workman, D. Doughty, J. Harmon, and L. Gilbert. G. Rolfes was absent. The minutes of the June 24th meeting were read and approved as written. R. Winkel, CPA, of Clifton Gunderson, LLP presented the financial statement and it was approved as presented. The Club remains financially sound. Committee Reports: Grounds and Greens: - Fertilizer and grub control has been applied - Fairways and t-boxes #3 and #8 have been aerated - Sprinkler heads have been trimmed - Limbs have been trimmed on t-boxes #6 and #7 - Round-up was sprayed around fence posts along #9 fairway - There is a proposed “work day” in September to gravel cart paths and aerate - Bunkers are being edged - #2 fairway is showing “stress” and will need special attention. Cutting has been halted for now - The “no mow areas” were discussed. They can be converted to virgin grass and wild flowers at a cost of $700.00. The motion was made, seconded and passed that Al Heun will be contacted to get this accomplished. Building: - The cart shed roofing is complete. Some soffit and fascia is still to be replaced - A new air conditioner is needed in the upstairs kitchen. J. Harmon will contact Brinkman’s to obtain a cost for an air conditioner or exhaust fan. Sports: - Chad Ehrhart was the winner of the Club championship - The Club “handicap” championship is Aug. 16 and 17. The course will be closed that Sat. and Sun. from 8:00 until 1:00 - A special “thanks” to Josh and crew for arriving early to ready the course - The “Junior” Club championship will be Monday - Aug. 7, Men’s stag - Aug. 9, Ottens Tournament - The June 21st Fulton Boosters showed “gross” receipts of $1666.50 A request was received from Clinton Community College that we donate a certificate for 18 holes of golf with a cart for a foursome for their college auction. A vote was taken and the certificate will be sent. A “thank you” is given to Jon Lockhart for his donation of a book called the “Rules of Golf” and the” Rules of Amateur Status”. This book is approved and published by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews and the USGA. The meeting was adjourned. The next meeting will be August 26, 2008 at the Club house.
